The start of the holiday season!!

Tonight was the official start of the holiday season in Prague. The Christmas markets opened today in Old Town where they sell tons of souvenir type things, sausages, grog (spiced wine), ornaments, crepes...and so on. It was so beautiful seeing everything lit up but it was VERY crowded for the lighting of the 40 foot Christmas tree in the Old Town square in front of the Tyn Church. A childrens choir sang before the lighting and it got everyone in the Christmas mood and spirit. The tree was lit at 6pm and you can watch the video of it below. There were hundreds of people around it was a crazy scene trying to get out of the square. Lots of pushing and shoving but so worth it to see the lighting! Angela and I immediately played Christmas music when we got back to the room!! One month and I'll be home to enjoy the season in RI but I am so excited to see the season here in Prague!
